The Norse Gods
Every character chooses a patron from the Norse pantheon at the gates. You can choose Nobody instead and explain that to Odin later.

Blessings for sale, and curses
Distorted Illusions and v3.1 have priests on both sides of the moral line. At a good priest, repentcan move your alignment toward the light for 50 gold, grant Odin's blessing, or lift a voodoo curse for one platinum. At a dark altar, curse grants Hel's blessing and pushes your alignment toward evil. The priest refuses the pure of heart. Between them sit the voodoo dolls: a level-20 command that lets a player torment a named victim from anywhere in the world, until a priest of either persuasion is paid to make it stop.
Weddings
Marriage is ceremonial and officiated by an immortal. The weddings board carries announcements, and the staff grants posting rights to the couple.
