Quickstart Legends
Not everyone returning after twenty-five years wants to fight rabbits in Mud School again. Quickstart Legends are the restoration's answer: a fixed, clearly marked hero build that can walk the old world on day one.
The seven templates
| Template | Race | Path |
|---|---|---|
| Archmage | elf | pure magic, including mana shield |
| Saint | human | the healer, for those who kept the group alive |
| Assassin | halfling | stealth and the single strike |
| Crusader | dwarf | the weapon master |
| Hunter | elf | a self-sufficient wilderness fighter |
| Warlock | human, evil | the dark channeler |
| Necromancer | goblin, evil | the army of the dead |
The rules of the road
- Each template has fixed stats, hit points, and mana. Its bound Explorer Kit includes a full set of equipment and a class weapon. The gear cannot be dropped or burned.
- Permanently non-PK. A Quickstart can never opt into player killing and may only join non-PK clans.
- Groups containing a Quickstart are "Recreational," so Standard players in them earn no advancement. You can carry friends through the world, but not through the ladder.
- Focus advancement is capped at level 5 per track. The full endgame climb belongs to Standard characters.
- Defeat costs nothing: no corpse, no loss. You wake in Wayfarer's Hall for a 60-second recovery and walk back out.
- The
quickstartcommand in Wayfarer's Hall restores missing kit withkitorreclaimand opens one-way exploration portals. - If the world hooks you,
startoverturns the character into a Standard level-one human while keeping the same name and password. The choice is permanent and asks for a confirmation phrase.
